Tangled vines by frances dinkelspiel6/29/2023 ![]() ![]() But he found another use: grapes.įrances Dinkelspiel researched the story for her new book, “Tangled Vines: Greed, Murder, Obsession, and an Arsonist in the Vineyards of California.” Much of the narrative is about a 2005 fire in Vallejo that destroyed 4.5 million bottles of wine, set by a disgruntled oenophile. Tapia said he needed the land for his own cattle. ![]() To establish the boundaries, Tapia sketched in the mountains, some hills and creeks and indicated, in Spanish, “the road that goes to San Bernardino.” (If it was anything like today, I’m guessing it was congested and the horsemen were all idiots.) A gentleman never keeps score6/28/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() He refuses to give up his house, and becomes a recluse. Instead, Hartley is shunned from society. There is 100% truth in this gossip, but thankfully the son doesn’t have definite proof that would criminally prosecute Hartley. But when his godfather dies, and Hartley inherits his house, the godfather’s son, who was overlooked in the inheritance, starts to release salacious gossip about Hartley – that he admires men, not women. Hartley Sedgwick took London drawing rooms by storm with his good looks and easy charm. I don’t think I’ve ever read Cat Sebastian and shame on me! I really enjoyed her voice in this one – she gives us two characters that will make you smile and warm your heart. A Gentleman Never Keeps Score by Cat Sebastian (Seducing the Sedgwicks #2) ![]()
